You may also pick up on their tone of voice and their communication style the more you read. Moreover, reading other people’s material can serve as a source of inspiration if you find yourself facing writer’s block. Perhaps most importantly, reading other material will help you figure out what does and does not make for a good read, especially online.

2. Plan before you write

While experienced writers can often write by the seat of their pants, others can benefit from proper planning. Determine why you are writing this blog post, what your topic and main message will be, and who your audience is.
